About Joan Roca

I'm a Software Architect and Technical Lead, specialized in frontend technologies at GFI. Working for some of the biggest financial companies in Spain (Bankia, Santander, BBVA) I design, improve and offer technical counseling to frontend teams working and developing projects for those companies. Before joining GFI I worked at Smadex, a Mobile DSP company for almost 6 years working with and learning from some bests devs in Barcelona. Also, before that I worked in 2 IT startups, Hyds and Peoplewings. I'm truly passionate about my work, and I always eager to learn more about technologies and project management. While I enjoy every aspect of my job, I think my favourite part is the one that comes between defining a feature and starting coding. To solve the puzzle. To connect every little piece of the architecture with software, so everything works like clockwork. I have an IT bachelor degree by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
