Background
About Joanderson Morais
Civil engineer, M.Sc geotechnics and Ph.D. researcher passionate about big projects, sciences and different cultures. The result is more than 50 countries visited, dozens of projects developed and some articles published. Currently resident in Montreal, Junior Engineer member of the Order of Engineers Québec, Ph.D. student in the road foundation improvement and, since 2019, Teaching Assistant in the discipline of Soil Mechanics at the Polytechnique de Montreal. Recognized for my dedication, rigor and sense of organization, I always seek in my works to optimize results and eliminate risks, through best practices of collaborative management with a focus on controlling scope, cost and time. With these principles as a guide, my first results appeared very early, professional internships at Queiroz Galvão and Gafisa. However, the apex of that period was my selection for the École des Mines de Douai - France through the Science Without Borders-Brafitec program, funded by the Brazilian government. After 6 initial months in Douai, I was selected for the position of Assistant Engineer on the Eurovia - Groupe Vinci, where I supervised and prepared the reports for the repaving, maintenance and triplication services of the A71 highway. During this period, I was able to improve not only my technical knowledge but also my French language skills, which was fundamental for my entry in the TPF Ingénierie Group. The demand for a Brazilian engineer capable of developing multidisciplinary projects in French-speaking regions met my desire to explore new challenges in October 2013. For almost 5 years, I experienced the most diverse areas of Civil Engineering, in the most varied places in the world like Gabon, Angola, Togo, Peru and, mainly, Brazil. Besides engineering, I have another passion: Science. Research assistant since the bachelor's second year, it was only in 2013, after my French experience, that I decided to dedicate myself to the transport and geotechnics studies. The first result was a research on the Brazilian railway network, which accredited me for the Master in Engineering (UFPE) and the MBA in Project Management (FGV). Two courses made in parallel and determinants for my life. In 3 years, 5 articles were published with presentations at various international conferences. This period was so important that in 2018 it gave me a great and current experience: Ph.D. at École Polytechnique de Montreal. If you have new challenges, projects or experiences that you would like to discuss, feel free to contact me, it will be a pleasure!
