About Joann Collins

As a referral and support specialist at Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Summit DD), I help individuals and families access the resources and services they need to live their best lives. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in general studies and I have my associate's degree in occupational therapy assisting from Kent State University. I have several years of experience in providing quality support and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities (specifically the youth population), and I have developed skills in diversity and inclusion, time management, and quality improvement. My core competencies include communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and empathy. I also have an extensive background in the hospitality industry and employee training, giving me fifteen years experience in customer service, sales, and working in a consumer facing role.
