About Joann Power

I have 22 years experience in my role as manager within the Adult Literacy and Language Services in WWETB which facilitates adults to develop their Adult Literacy skills. The target group specifically are those who are unemployed, Travellers, asylum seekers, migrant workers, adults with disabilities, ex-substance misusers, ex-prisoners and all other adults who may have missed out on their first chance in education. I currently work in Additional Supports for Apprenticeship providing supports up to Phase 2 from an academic and wellbeing perspective. I co-ordinate the Skills for Work Programme for WWETB (providing course options for those who are working with low qualifications to progress within employment). Embedding change at this level ensures genuine inclusion for all adults within our communities. I assess Teaching Practice for SETU and St. Angelas College of Education (within FET and Special Ed. Placements). My passions include rowing and kayaking and play with the local Gaelic Mothers and Others team. I enjoy fundraising and engaging with developments in the local community.
