About Joann Trainer

I have been fortunate to have experienced the remarkable advancements across clinical practice, research, public health, and technology in my field medical role with Pfizer over the past two decades. Serving as Sr. Director, Field Medical in the Cardiovascular/Metabolism therapeutic area, I bring extensive expertise in the cardiovascular and metabolism therapeutic area as well as pharmaceutical research based on that experience. I collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver timely and relevant scientific information in the cardiovascular and metabolic fields with a focus on atrial fibrillation, thrombosis and diabetes. My focus is on supporting HCPs through evidence-based dialogue, therapeutic expertise, and strategic engagement across a multi-state region. Aligned with Pfizer’s medical affairs priorities, I provide scientific support, help facilitate clinical trial discussions and gather meaningful insights from the field. As part of the CVM team, I also contribute to initiatives that advance understanding of care practices, with a particular focus on improving outcomes in underserved populations. Beyond my professional responsibilities at Pfizer, I also take immense pride in serving as CEO of the Slay Sarcoma Research Initiative. This cause is deeply personal to me and I'm passionate about raising awareness and funding for leiomyosarcoma research. In this role, I’m driven by a commitment to supporting patients, connecting healthcare professionals, and working alongside scientists as we unite in the fight against this rare but devastating disease.
