About Joanna Ehrlich

I am a global health professional with over a decade of experience, working in more than 20 countries for governmental and non-governmental organizations. I obtained an MSc in Global Health from the University of Barcelona and ISGlobal, where I developed a strong interest in tuberculosis research. Since then, I have worked as an epidemiologist in TB and COVID-19, and joined the Tuberculosis Research Group at ISGlobal as a Project Manager in 2022. I have an immense passion for global health, which has been cultivated through various projects around the world in infectious disease epidemiology and increasing access to medical and surgical care. During my work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I was recognized with the “Award of Excellence” from the commissioner of health in Texas for my outstanding contributions to the regional pandemic response, and was awarded the prestigious Fulbright scholarship to conduct TB research in Mozambique. My current research interests include the study of asymptomatic TB within the natural history of TB, and screening or diagnostic approaches for detecting asymptomatic TB, especially among high-risk groups.
