About Joanna Henry

I am a multidisciplinary artist and arts professional with over a decade of experience advancing creative communities through cultural programming, artist development, and education. Currently serving as the Artist Development Specialist for the Catawba Nation, I support Indigenous artists through project management, grant facilitation, digital marketing, and strategic planning. My background spans fine art, ceramics instruction, art curation, and nonprofit administration—combining hands-on creative practice with leadership in arts management. Whether designing community workshops, managing exhibitions, or guiding emerging artists, I am passionate about creating space for meaningful cultural expression. With a certification in Arts Management at UMass Amherst, I bring a strong foundation in visual arts (BFA, Winthrop University) along with skills in photography, graphic design, and collaborative relationship-building. I’m seeking opportunities where I can continue to merge creative practice with community impact.
