About Joanna Simpson

I have over 16 years experience in planning and delivering integrated communications campaigns to raise awareness and drive behaviour change. A strong and confident communicator, I enjoy using my natural friendly yet professional nature to build solid relationships across sectors of industry and the public sector. My experience lies in integrated campaign planning, digital marketing, social media, copywriting, account management, managing suppliers (designers, photographers, production companies etc). I have strong partnership building skills, stakeholder management and resident engagement. Most recently I created and implemented the #NoFilter campaign, which is being rolled out across the UK.* Brand management * Copywriting for features, the web, radio adverts, press releases * Working with agencies and providers * Managing budgets * Building relationships with stakeholders, partners and key influencers * Social media * Campaign planning. My role within the councils corporate communications team, is varied. I work across a variety of campaigns, from the 2012 Olympics, Drive SMART (road safety campaign) which includes Drink drive, speeding, cycle safety, mobile phones campaigns. I am also lead officer on the adoption and fostering recruitment campaigns, Fire and Rescue external campaigns and adult social care awareness campaigns for the council. I have also worked on the local county council election campaign, encouraging residents to register to and use their votes and resident consultations. I work with colleagues, council members and senior managers, partners and stakeholders and do so in a confident, professional yet friendly way. I enjoy people!
