About Joanne Baker

My career in financial services began as a mortgage adviser in 2002 with the Halifax before moving on to Nationwide. I became a Financial Planning Manager in 2007 as I wanted to be able to help my clients with more than mortgages. Working for a building society gave me a strong foundation. It is about doing the right thing every time and this is fundamentally how I work. This approach led to numerous awards and accolades during my time with both institutions including employee of the year and trusted adviser awards. After a long career at Nationwide, I took the opportunity to make a change and in 2021, alongside Caroline Allen we launched Yorkshire Financial Planning Ltd. The decision to set up our own Practice easy as for a long time we have shared a vision about how financial advice should be focused on client relationships and being there for every life event – be it big or small. We chose to become a proud ‘Partner Practice’ of the prestigious St. James’s Place Wealth Management plc to take advantage of their distinct investment approach; their wealth of knowledge and expertise as well as the strength of being a FTSE-100 company. This enables us to provide the most suitable advice and solutions through holistic bespoke advice to our clients. We are an all-female team of financial advisers giving advice you can trust.
