About Joanne Barrows

As a servant leader in Human Resource Management (HRM) for 15+ years, I have been committed to strengthening and stabilizing organizations by promoting an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive employee-focused environment. I recognize that the best way to support a core mission is by providing tools, services, and resources that empower and equip employees to contribute value as they seek to accomplish that mission. With strong interpersonal communication, change management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, I am able to interact with and influence those at varying organizational levels. As I leverage a comprehensive knowledge of human resource policies, practices, and procedures, I am proficient in handling confidential materials, resolving conflicts, conducting initial complaint investigations, documenting disciplinary action, mitigating risks, and enforcing compliance. I have performed various HR Generalist functions, including full-cycle recruiting, the development of employee training programs, benefits administration, new hire orientation, and onboarding, as well as leadership and talent development. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of instituting programs and workshops, some of which are still in use today and have been presented annually to over 100 attendees, including new hires and senior leaders in management. These include, but are not limited to: New Employee Orientation Program Common Decency & Sexual Harassment Training Public Speaking & Interviewing Skills Disrupting Ageism & Management Essentials Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Leadership Development Program I am passionate about caring for the needs of others, especially those from vulnerable populations, such as our seniors. I enjoy giving back to my community by participating in various volunteer activities. As I continue my career in human resources, I appreciate the unique opportunity it affords me to be a positive agent for change, organizational growth, and professional development.
