About Joanne Bowman

I am an Accounting and business administration professional with experience in multiple industries including telecommunications, technology, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing and creative/cultural. I have experience in problem solving and organizing systems to facilitate effective transaction processing, accounting, financial reporting and analyses. After 3 years with KPMG in audit, I joined Il Fornaio America Corporation as the Manager of Training and Internal Audit. It was there that my interest in small business operations developed. I attended graduate school and in 1997 earned an MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship. I joined Chalone Wine Group in 1998 and took the position of Director of Finance where I helped to redesign the financial reporting system, consolidated the financial statements, prepared financial statement analysis for the board of directors, prepared the monthly 10Qs and yearly 10Ks to fulfill SEC reporting requirements and performed internal audits. From to 2001 I managed the cost accounting system at Antenna Audio, a manufacturer of audio equipment and producer of audio tours for museums and other cultural exhibits. While there I also prepared the financial statements and performed financial forecasting and analysis. Since then I have been consulting with various companies performing management and administrative functions including organizing and implementing financial management systems, budget and forecasting, performing valuation analysis for acquisitions of small businesses, designing business plans, managing accounting processes, financial reporting and analysis, facilitating integration of procurement and other management systems with financial management systems, cash management; internal audit, implementation of and training of point of sale systems, and hiring and management of staff.
