About Joanne Boyd

Joanne Boyd is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a BSc degree who has been working in the childcare sector for 28 + years. She has worked in licensed child care centres, home based child care, schools and family resource centres with children of all ages. Joanne has a strong interest in attachment, neuroscience and infant and early childhood mental health. She has taken multiple “train the trainer" courses to expand her knowledge of how stress, anxiety and trauma affect daily life and learning in children. Joanne is a vibrant and experienced group facilitator / trainer who has developed and delivered engaging workshops to diverse groups of adults and children. Joanne has a wealth of experience doing research, assessing community need, creating partnerships, building community capacity and working on community development projects for local non-profit organizations. Her roles and responsibilities have included learning and support coordination, community engagement and project management, volunteer coordination and supervision, event planning, fundraising, grant writing and assessment. Joanne launched support.ca, her parent coaching business in 2013. This coaching practice compliments the high quality workshops that Joanne develops and facilitates in the community for parents and professionals working with families. As a parent coach and educator, she provides practical strategies for parenting challenges via one-on-one virtual support sessions on Zoom. Joanne is a life long learner and continues to expand her skills and knowledge through on-going professional development and researching the latest evidenced based materials on best parenting practices, brain development and health / well being of children and families.
