About Joanne Coen

I am the Senior Partner and Head of Child Law department at Ramsdens Solicitors LLP. I have developed the department for 15 years at Ramsdens, seeing its growth consistently increase and mature to one of the most significant teams in West & North Yorkshire. I am proud to have developed the team of 12 Solicitors who specifically focus on public proceedings making this one of the most well regarded teams in Yorkshire. I have extensive experience in representing children in complex public law cases, having achieved children panel membership for 25 years. I have provided training to family Magistrates. I assist with the Leeds Family Justice Board and liaise with the Legal aid agency to focus on better efficiencies. In addition to the managerial and ownership oversight, I am passionate about continuing to fee earn so as to appreciate the challenges that the team face whilst maintaining excellent client care. As an owner of the firm, I am involved in the overall decision making for the strategic development of the business and enjoy the growth and efficiency aspects for the wider firm as well as the department.
