I am a creative and commercial leader who is highly innovative. I love business, Community, baking and exploring new recipes. I have a wealth of ideas and I am always embracing change and development, whether it be personal or professional. I am intrinsically motivated and believe in lifelong learning. My career has been diverse which has led me to have a broad skill set that is highly transferrable amongst sectors. I am currently a Store Manager at The Cornish Bakery and recently finished a top up degree in Business with the University of Brighton, gaining an upper 2.1 while working full time. My degree focused on Community projects, Staff retention and motivation theories. Prior to this role I was Managing Director of my own hospitality concept for 5 years. I was inspired to do this as in 2010, I attended a conference and listened to guest speaker Sahar Hashemi, who is the Founder of Coffee Republic. She was one of the most motivational and inspiring speakers I have had the privilege to listen to. I bought her book "Anyone can do It," and a year later I opened my own business. I volunteered with "Tidy Up St Leonards" to help Hastings become a plastic free community, as part of my dissertstion. I love living by the sea and trying to clean up our oceans sits firmly within my personal values. In addition to this I am trained in sugar craft and novelty cakes and I undertake regular refresher courses to keep my skills up to date and on trend.
