About Joanne Williamson

15 years work experience in post-secondary education 3 years experience in employment services As a Training and Development Associate I was responsible for training staff on technologies, communication and presentation skills. I was responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating training programs to ensure transfer-ability of skills to the workplace. I currently work as a Program Officer at George Brown College within the School of Nursing. I play an important role in the academic operations and am responsible for coordinating the course timetables, leading the organization and planning of events, and resolving escalated registration issues. I advise applicants and graduates on the process of becoming a nurse and upgrading courses. As an Entry Advisor I was responsible for advising new immigrants and prospective students on education and employment paths. To ensure appropriate guidance was provided, I was responsible for maintaining a database of up to date information on the college and community resources. Prior to working at the college, I worked in employment services where I assisted and trained people in job preparedness. This included resume writing workshops, interview preparation and advisement on the job market.
