About Joao Ramos

Joao was the Assortment Strategy Director of Jeronimo Martins Poland, a 15B USD retailer in Europe. Before that, he helped retailers around the world create and develop their Private Brand programs and started an innovative Digital Agency in Mexico, charging only for results- For over 15 years and in 6 different countries, responsible for conceptual planning and development of products and brands online and offline. At the age of 21 I was responsible for 50M USD in annual commodity purchases. On my second year on the job I got 1.3M USD savings in a single contract and broke a market oligopoly with many years of existence. By the age of 23 I was Chief of Staff for the President of a leading sourcing and branding US firm, with offices in over 90 locations in 6 continents. After returning to Portugal, I've been responsible for some of the biggest and most efficient Digital Marketing campaigns in sectors such as Finance, Auto Insurance and eCommerce. Moved to Mexico in 2011 where I started a new Digital Marketing Company, being responsible for all the Initial Setup, Recruiting and full P&L responsibility, achieving profitability during the second year of activity, having gathered the trust of over 25 clients, including leading worldwide brands such as AIG, Santander and AXA. Leading projects in Performance marketing campaigns, Digital platforms and Mobile Apps. Opened the new office in Ukraine and led the team in Poland for a leading retail consulting company. Created and led the Assortment Strategy department for the biggest private company in Poland with over US $10B turnover. Currently delivering thousands of hours of perfect sleep to smart shoppers, as the Cofounder of Koala Rest, a direct to consumer startup revolutionizing the mattress sector, one night at a time.
