About Jocelyn Delozier

I am a passionate individual that has worked in the social services field for 16+ years. I graduated from Conestoga College’s Occupational Therapist Assistant & Physiotherapist Assistant program in 2006 learning that independence and our individual ability to function in our every day lives is of the utmost of importance. Over the many years of my career I have assisted both adults and youth in the implementation of treatment plans to promote their mental and physical functioning to enhance their participation in activities of their daily life. I am a strong advocate and ally for individuals with a wide range of mental and physical health conditions. I feel it is imperative that every client is aware of their human rights and are treated with kindness and decency. I am a voice for those that feel they do not have one when needed and am avid about teaching individuals to be strong advocates for themselves. Some of my formal educational placements during college included acute post surgery care in a hospital, a long term care facility/retirement home, an acquired brain injury clinic and a physiotherapy clinic. My post graduate professional experiences have included home health care, child and youth counselling, residential treatment programs, secure custody, detention and secure treatment programs as well as independent contracting in the community. As an independent contractor I work in multiple roles as a behavioural therapist, respite therapist, urgent response support, and supervision therapist with clients out in the community depending on their needs. Throughout my career I have taken pride in continuing education in mental health, diversity & inclusion, suicide prevention, nonviolent crisis intervention, behavioural challenges and behaviour modification. I’m doing my part to help change the world one hour, one session, one day, and one client at a time. My personal interests include exploring and hiking trails with my two dogs, listening to music, dancing, reading, cooking, journaling, meditation, kundalini yoga and spending time with family.
