About Jocelyn Johns

One day someone said to me "If you could do anything knowing you could not fail what would you do?" Well that got me thinking. The answer for me is to seek solutions to all the worlds problems one molecule at a time. The big solution I am targeting right now is clean renewable hydrogen thanks to my PhD candidature at Macquarie University. Graduating with a Bachelor of Advanced Science, Biomolecular, was the first step in this grand plan followed closely by a Masters of Research and now I embark on a PhD. Science has always been of great interest to me but until 2014 other pursuits lured me away from this path. In 1995 I graduated from the Whitehouse Institute of Design - Fashion Design. Also that year as a winner of a prestigious Smirnoff Fashion Design Award my design featured in magazines and the Power House museum as well as a prestigious book published by the curator. Proud moment. Worked in all sorts of fashion roles including alterations, fashion illustration, high end fashion retail as well corporate clothing. Acquired a diploma in Aromatherapy which at one point lead me off in another direction working with Naturopaths and as an Aromatherapist in massage. Scientific research is now my passion and I am so glad I have found it.
