I am grateful to have earned my Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a concentration in therapeutic recreation at Southern Connecticut State University. SCSU has graced me with opportunities to partake in numerous educational and hands-on recreational experiences that enhanced the well-beings of clients and furthered my passion for the field. Now in the workforce, I am committed to advocating for this profession. In 2025, I constructed my first testimonial letter to advocate for the licensure of recreational therapists in Connecticut to protect all clients from receiving improper recreational treatment from unqualified professionals. I’m excited to bring my knowledge and skills into my final internship at Whiting Forensic Hospital, working side by side talented certified recreational therapist specialists (CTRS’s) in implementing inpatient programs to individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
