About Jocelyn Yang

Graduate of Biology B.A and Psychology B.S certified as a NHA CCMA, I am adept in triaging symptoms (present in the following specialties: Dermatology, Asthma and Allergy, Immunology, and Urgent Care), injection administration, and coordination of Biologics. Work experiences consist of specimen collection and processing, as well as blood draws. Research experiences primarily occurred in academic settings, such as interning for an NSF project coding political statements for emotional valence and attitudes. Primarily, I worked as a research assistant on a joint project with Cancer Research UK, evaluating the relationship between cancer and obesity. This three-part study consisted of Qualtrics Surveys, Food Diaries, and in-laboratory evaluations. Consequently, I am proficient in analyzing data via Microsoft Office as well as utilizing EMA, Phyz, NexGen, Experity, and Epic. When I'm not in the office, I advocate for Women's Empowerment and Girls' Education. In 2020, I was part of a core team of Hmong Women seeking to decrease the prevalence of teenage marriages and pregnancies and proliferate opportunities for higher education in Southeast Asia. Today, this initiative is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit diversifying from higher education pursuits to business entrepreneurship and increasingly providing sustainable means for education and career aspirations.
