About Jochen Baes

As a Benelux and European Trademark and Design Attorney, Jochen Baes has extensive knowledge of the different aspects of intellectual property, and in particular of trademark and design law. Jochen provides clients with legal and strategic advice on the maintenance, protection and optimisation of their IP portfolios. He focuses on trademark filing strategies, prosecution, negotiations and drafting agreements, and advises both product- and service-based businesses, as well as companies with B2B and B2C focuses, in a wide range of sectors. He also administers domain name portfolios and conducts legal proceedings relating thereto. Moreover, Jochen provides advice on copyright and fair market practices and has experience in competition law. Jochen obtained a Masters degree in Law from the University of Ghent, followed by a LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Competition law from the University of Liège. Jochen gained experience in a renowned independent Belgian law firm and was active as an IP attorney for major IP consultancy firms as well as legal counsel at the Brussels Public administration in order to create IP awareness and to build an IP strategy internally. Currently, he is working as trademark attorney at Ifori.
