About Jodi Hodges

As a child people used to say I should find a job that pays me to talk. Making connections and telling stories have always come naturally to me, so I figured I was destined for either law or stand-up comedy. Alas, I landed in the communications field. It's neither law nor entertainment, but sometimes both. So why did I settle into this profession? Because communicating is a skill, not a subject. I like all traditional academic subjects and didn’t want to limit myself. Now that I’ve been in the profession for over a decade, I’ve learned a few things, like- Listening is more important that talking - Perception is the only reality - Saying nothing is indeed saying something While gathering this wisdom, I’ve also gathered some wisdom about myself and my strengths. I thrive on interruptions, tough deadlines and creative problem solving. Moving quickly and multi-tasking is my niche. When I can work in a fast-paced environment I have excellent productivity and contagious enthusiasm. I also thrive on making strong interpersonal connections and love being the first point of contact for clients and leading others. I pride myself on my intuition both with people and strategic decisions. And giving presentations makes me happy; probably because then I really am getting paid to talk.
