About Jodie Kilfeather

With more than six years of experience in IT Logistics and most recently data center operations, I was most recently a skilled and certified data center technician at Amazon Web Services (AWS). My mission was to ensure the security, efficiency, and reliability of the data center facilities and equipment. I have a strong background in decommissioning and processing legacy hardware, imaging and troubleshooting Mac OS, Linux and Windows devices, and working with various PC components and networking hardware. I am passionate about learning new technologies and staying updated on the latest trends and best practices in the field. I value teamwork, communication, and customer satisfaction, and worked hard to contribute to the AWS culture of innovation and excellence. In my most recent role as a Rack Decommissioning Data Center Technician at AWS, I was responsible for decommissioning and processing legacy hardware out of the data center facilities, adhering to security and safety best practices, and updating progress through a web ticketing system. I also handled, removed, and destroyed hard drives, networking hardware, and other fragile electronics, and created and attached labels and barcodes. I worked with senior technicians and management to escalate any issues or concerns, and I supported the data center operations with my expertise on a daily basis. I demonstrated my skills in my previous roles (Facebook, Google, CompuB) in sales, retail, and writing by communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, documenting procedures and policies, and providing feedback and suggestions for improvement. I completed my most recent role in AWS in June 2023, after two years and three months of service, and went into a short term management role after some time travelling. I also have several years worth of expertise and experience in Journalism, having graduated from BCFE, Dublin in 2010, receiving my HND in Print Journalism (Media Production)
