About Jody Head

With over 28 years of work experience in the oilfield industry, I am a seasoned and versatile drilling professional who can handle complex and challenging drilling projects. My core competencies include well planning, BHA design and steering, multi-lateral and extended reach drilling, well re-entry and whip-stock setting, MPD and under-balance operations. I am passionate about delivering safe, efficient, and quality drilling services to my clients, and I enjoy working with diverse and collaborative teams. I am currently a directional driller at Phoenix Technology Services, a leading provider of innovative and customized drilling solutions in Canada and internationally. In my current role, I have drilled wells in various locations and formations across Western Canada, ranging from surface to 8400m. I have extensive experience in 3D, horizontal, S-curve, build and hold, Extended reach and pad work with walking rig drilling, as well as well completion and tool recovery. I have also developed and applied my skills in multi-lateral, MPD, and under-balance drilling, as well as well re-entry and whip-stock setting and large diameter holes and extended reach scenarios. I have worked with world and industry leaders such as Kelt Exploration, Paramount, and Pengrowth, and I have contributed to their safety culture and performance excellence. I have also demonstrated my ability to make up and steer and orient directional BHA's, and to handle large diameter hole and BHA equipment.
