About Jody Roblyer

My mission is to improve our world by advancing the health, wellness, and spirituality of children and their families. I have 36+ years in nursing. As an RN I worked in newborn nursery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and for Baltimore City Health Department in community health nursing. I worked well baby, family planning, immunization, and STD clinics, as the school nurse at Mervo (Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School), and home visiting for prenatal care, postpartum and newborn care, and communicable diseases. As a PNP, I worked a few years in a pediatric clinic when teaching in my first job after my masters degree. For 17 years, I worked at Pediatric Partners, a busy, private pediatric practice in Towson, MD, where I also had hospital admission privileges at GBMC (Greater Baltimore Medical Center). I saw all ages birth- age 21 with specialty practice in adolescent and GYN health care. I saw children for well visits and sick visits. I honed my skills in interviewing, assessment, diagnosis, critical thinking, health teaching, ordering and interpreting labs and tests, prescribing medications, giving immunizations, office procedures, multi-tasking, communicating on the telephone, managing complicated patients, and still finding time to enjoy all my patients and appreciate each and every one of them. I practiced in pediatrics and taught nursing and nurse practitioner students at the same time, about half and half. Teaching made me a better practitioner and practicing made me a better teacher. I wouldn't have had it any other way. I continue to teach and have recently added one day a week working as a PNP in a school-based health center as well as getting my new business, Monarch Holistic Healing, up and running.
