About Jody Seabright

As an architectural designer, and now Director of Pynenburg & Collins Architects and Lab-works Architecture, I have had over 30 years experience in the design, detailing, documentation, and construction of a wide variety of buildings. Our mission is to enhance the way people live, work and play. And my career has certainly done this, with a portfolio of work that has ranged from small domestic to large commercial buildings, from community buildings to back-country tramping huts, as well as a range of laboratories and scientific facilities. It is an eclectic and interesting mix that has provided the foundation for a wide body of experience and knowledge. I enjoy the challenge of solving the more interesting and complex problems. Especially in the design of laboratories, where creating built environments that have allowed new scientific discoveries to be made, for the benefit of society as a whole, has been highly motivating and rewarding. This has included facilities that range from chemical, to analytical, to micro-biological, to physical materials, to PC3 containment facilities. Outside of architecture my other passion is Motorsport. Having been a competitor, and organiser / official, as well as an award winning journalist and photographer, my involvement in motorsport is also varied and interesting. Currently I am the secretary for Wellington Car Club, and retain an involvement in many aspects of the sport. Now if only I can find time to compete more in my rally car, with my son.
