About Joe Cheng

Hello! My name is Joe Cheng, and I am studying graphic design at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I was born and raised in San Jose, California, the land of billionaires and boba. Growing up I loved to be creative, whether it be building board games or illustrating posters of my family’s favorite movies. I valued and still value today creating works that can be shared and enjoyed by those around me. Community is an essential part of my work and who I am as a person, as I strive to design branding, content, and apparel that resonate with my client and their audience. Wielding the tools of the Adobe Creative Cloud, I personalize color, shape, and type according to the values and personality of my clients. Some of my dream projects include designing graphic t-shirts for Uniqlo, constructing brand identities for small food businesses, or masterminding promotional campaigns for new product launches. When I’m not banging my head on the table for ideas, you can find me hooping with my friends, cleaning around the house, or drifting my way to victory in Mario Kart.
