About Joe Clarke

Detail-oriented, hard working and organised history graduate from the University of Edinburgh open to any and all opportunities put before me. Having worked in various different roles in my employment history, I have developed a wide variety of skills that each of these positions have brought. From the need to work in a team during my time in the Splendid catering industry, my communication and people skills from working in the Heeltap bar or the detail focused work done whilst woking at Thompsons Solicitors.I am lucky enough to have had the opportunity to do a year abroad during my time at the University of Edinburgh, meaning I did a year at the University of Richmond. Whilst showing that I am not afraid to step outside of my comfort zone, it also allowed me to experience a different culture which many to be more intrinsically linked with ours than it truly is. Having just finished my time at the University of Edinburgh, I am open to pursuing a variety of different career paths, the skills I have honed during my degree giving me transferable skills that could apply to various different positions. One of these skills would be my ability to critically evaluate large bodies of material, whether they be contemproary or historical. I have also increased my communication skills, having had to give several oral presentations on topics ranging from the Nixon administration's record on race to an analysis of the importance of 'De Humani Corporis Fabrica' on our understanding of the modern body.
