About Joe Cook

With over 15 years of progressive IT experience within the Higher Education sector, I have built a career grounded in technical expertise, service delivery, and innovation. I began my journey through a two-year apprenticeship, earning industry-recognised IT certifications and securing a position at Manchester Metropolitan University. Over the years, I advanced from IT Advisor to Senior IT Advisor, and now serve as an IT Professional within the End User Computing team. My background includes extensive second and third line support, contributing to university-wide IT projects that honed both my technical and analytical skills. Currently, I lead on the Unified Endpoint Management project, implementing modern deployment solutions such as Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, to enhance the mobile device provisioning process. I possess in-depth expertise across key technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Active Directory and Group Policy. I am responsible for the ongoing development and deployment of the Windows OS platform across the University's managed estate, ensuring system compliance and efficiency. Driven by a strong passion for IT and emerging digital technologies, I continuously seek opportunities to innovate, grow, and add value through a forward-thinking approach to IT service delivery.
