About Joe Donaldson
I’m an award-winning design and creative leader with over 15 years of experience specializing in motion systems and brand storytelling. Currently, I’m the Head of Design and a Creative Director at BUCK NY, and I’m also a faculty member in the BFA Design program at the School of Visual Arts. In my commercial work, I’ve directed campaigns for brands like Apple, Google, Instagram, and Amazon. Through my independent practice, I’ve been commissioned to create films for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Etsy, and UNICEF. No matter the medium, I aim to make the ubiquitous feel unique and to find simple solutions to complex problems. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to wear many hats: directing, designing, animating, educating, curating, writing, and at times, founding and building new platforms and ideas of my own. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with my family or running endless loops through Prospect Park or Central Park.
