I’m a lawyer, writer, and teacher, committed to bettering the legal world—and the world at large—by promoting precise, elegant legal writing and authentic, persuasive oral advocacy. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS • In my current role as an Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Legal Research and Writing Program at the University of Virginia School of Law, I teach many of America’s best aspiring attorneys and mold the next generation of world-class legal writers and oral advocates through informative and enthusiastic lectures, realistic assignments, and extensive, actionable feedback. • As a litigator for national law firm BakerHostetler, I successfully argued civil cases before Florida's First and Fifth District Courts of Appeal and crafted legal arguments and drafted appellate briefs in four of Florida’s five District Courts of Appeal, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. • As an adjunct professor at Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, I created and taught a seminar course in advanced oral advocacy skills, which filled a gap in the school’s practical skills curriculum. • As a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, I collaborated with the judge and clerks to research and write orders and judicial opinions, including a lengthy opinion in a complex intellectual property matter that was published in the Federal Supplement.
