About Joe Freeman

I help B2Bs systematize their marketing and sales operations in order to scale. Co-founder and the CEO of Digitopia, a San Diego based digital marketing consultancy. I'm a programmer-turned-marketer and have been a certified HubSpot Solutions Partner for over 10 years. A San Diego native and lifetime musician, when I'm not designing lead funnels and sales sequences, you'll find me accompanying Polynesian dancers with my hula band, Lolo Paniolo. Here's my story. I started as a front-end developer in 2004 after teaching myself how to code HTML/CSS/Javascript from the back of a tour van (I was a professional, touring musician through my 20s.) In 2006 I founded Caban Media Group and evolved into an ASP and PHP programmer, building websites and e-commerce solutions for small businesses. In 2008, I joined San Diego-based digital marketing agency, Elevator, as the lead programmer. By 2010 I was one of the principals and head of design and development at Elevator. Over the next few years, we expanded the agency to include full-funnel marketing and nurturing services—eventually adopting HubSpot as our MAP of choice. I spent 5 years as COO of Elevator. In 2018 I co-founded Digitopia—the digital marketing agency that helps B2Bs systematize their marketing and sales operations using the Digital Utopia Methodology®. In 2023 I became CEO and sole owner of Digitopia. Over the past decade, I have focused on designing strategic sales and marketing frameworks for SMBs. I'm a certified HubSpot trainer and seasoned inbound marketer. I love helping businesses use technology to standardize and systematize their otherwise haphazard sales and marketing activities.
