About Joe Hulderman

My present position as Section Manager and a Senior Electrical Engineer at SSOE Group has provided a variety of power distribution projects for various industrial and municipal clients which has provided insight into the needs of industrial clients to maintain equipment reliability for production and to assist clients in solving emergent electrical issues. The Fermi power plant experience along with my prior nuclear navy and consulting engineering experiences of taking projects from the conceptual design through construction and commissioning qualify me for supervisory positions. My experience includes both operational and engineering as related to electrical power distribution and I&C control systems. My tenure at DTE Energy Fermi 2 was a very positive experience as my level of responsibility and experience continued to grow with each project completed. My position as Lead Electrical Engineer at Fermi 2 has allowed further insight into the aspects of power plant operations to ensure equipment reliability, assist in solving emergent plant issues while maintaining the facility design configuration and maintaining facility design analyses. I provided stakeholder input to plant modification and construction packages to ensure safe work behaviors and that plant configuration is maintained. As assistant manager during my previous tenure in the consulting engineering field included leading a group of 5 to 7 engineers and designers on multiple concurrent substation and power plant projects which included preparing design specifications and startup testing procedures. Organizational responsibilities consisted of administrative functions, work load projections, project budget control and review/checking design projects. The majority of the work was for municipal and institutional clients with substations/ electrical distribution systems and small coal fired and gas turbine generating stations.
