About Joe Kissner

I am a Linux Operations and AWS Cloud professional focused on building, automating, and supporting systems across both cloud and on-prem environments. I enjoy digging into challenges with engineering and infrastructure teams, improving deployments, and making environments more stable, efficient, and reliable. In my previous role on the DevOps team at CDS Global, I supported highly available production and pre-production Linux systems and web applications to meet business needs. I worked closely with developers, database administrators, and infrastructure teams to streamline build, deploy, and maintenance processes. I also assisted with PCI remediation and risk mitigation through the vulnerability management program. My technical experience spans Linux across all open-source platforms, RHEL, Amazon Linux, Microsoft Windows and Server platforms, IBM systems including ILMT, AIX, BigFix, and Db2, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. I regularly use tools such as GitHub, Terraform, VMware, Ansible, and Puppet to automate and manage environments.I have experience with security and monitoring tools including WIZ for AWS and Azure, Tenable, Qualys, CrowdStrike, Nagios, and DataDog. I have built aggregated logging solutions using Sumo Logic and custom ELK stacks, and I am familiar with compliance frameworks including PCI DSS, SOC, and HIPAA.I am passionate about creating scalable, resilient systems, improving processes, and finding solutions that make life easier for both the teams I support and the systems I manage.
