About Joe Lepper

Service and leadership have shaped my career in ways I never could have predicted. Whether in corporate strategy, nonprofit leadership, or speaking to students and professionals, I believe that bringing people together around a shared purpose leads to stronger teams, businesses, and communities. For the past 15 years in financial services—nine of those in corporate social responsibility—I’ve helped businesses connect with their communities in meaningful ways. At MassMutual, I lead national strategies that help financial professionals and firms make community engagement a core part of their business. Beyond my corporate role, I serve on nonprofit boards at the local, regional, and international levels, including as Chair of the Key Club International Alumni Council, working to support the next generation of young leaders. My career started in customer service roles within financial services, where I developed a strong foundation in problem-solving, adaptability, and relationship-building—skills that continue to shape my approach today. I also took a less traditional path to earning my degree, working throughout college—an experience that reinforced my ability to balance priorities, stay adaptable, and commit to long-term goals. I’ve been fortunate to have mentors who saw something in me before I saw it in myself and to be part of community organizations that helped shape my journey. Today, I love being able to pay that forward—mentoring others, serving in leadership roles, and helping people and organizations find ways to make a meaningful difference. Most importantly, I’m a husband and proud father of two, always striving to put my family first while balancing my career and community commitments. I’m also an avid golfer and passionate cook, always looking for ways to challenge myself—on the course, in the kitchen, and in life.
