About Joe Makin

My primary passion and skill is languages; having completed my degree at the University of Warwick I now communicate proficiently in both French and German. I am extremely technology literate, including proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office. Being a sporty person I am no stranger to teamwork; I have settled in quickly to work with diverse staff teams in Liverpool, Germany, and Chester, and captained the German department football team at University. I have a calm and friendly demeanor which, in addition to the transferable interpersonal skills gained through my communication abilities, would greatly enhance my interaction with future colleagues and clients. In my time at Bristol-Myers Squibb I have been able to demonstrate this particular skill on a daily basis when dealing with queries from both vendors and customers. I mix well with people of all ages and can adapt to different social environments. I believe that this is best exhibited by my membership in the Social Committee at BMS, which, in addition to social skills, requires real organisation, persistence, and time management. I regard myself as an energetic, punctual and well-organised individual, with a flexible and ‘can do’ attitude.
