About Joe Moses

I'm a collaborative writer of technical and marketing communications with organizations as large as Deloitte and Bristol Myers Squibb, in industries as varied as sports marketing, manufacturing equipment design and engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, digital security monitoring, and medical device manufacturing. I am a senior lecturer of Writing Studies at the University of Minnesota in the Technical Writing and Communication Program. I teach research, critical thinking, design thinking, principles of Agile project management, technical and professional writing, writing for digital media, project design and development, and collaboration. In an ongoing collaboration with Jason Tham, Assistant Professor of Technical Communication and Rhetoric at Texas Tech University, we've published Collaborative Writing Playbook: An Instructor’s Guide to Designing Writing Projects for Student Teams, and a second book is in press: Writing to Learn in Teams: A Collaborative Writing Playbook for Students Across the Curriculum. A third book for collaborative writing in the workplace is in development. In a very different kind of collaboration, I work with activist and playwright Miguel Fiol to develop his novel The Chrysalis for the stage. The play is a 2022 finalist in The Miranda Family 'Voces Latinx' National Playwriting Competition, a project sponsored by the family of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Repertorio Espanol in New York City. I’ve most recently developed materials about artificial intelligence in health care systems, processing system commissioning for hygienic processing plants, human capital trends, cybersecurity solutions, supply chain management, and recruiting for technology expertise in government and public service agencies.
