About Joe Nickell

Currently I am employed by Oracle after it acquired Cerner. As an AV Architect for Cerner my scope of work is any AV technology that is attached to a building, including audio systems, displays, experience centers and collaboration platforms. Cerner was an early adapter of Teams in 2019. I lead the technical designs of the new Experience Center which embraced a variety of unique systems; including 4k video walls, Pandoras Box media systems, and Oblong Mezzanine collaboration tools. Additional responsibilities include analysis of cost considerations and corporate vendor relationships. Guided the choice of solutions for two buildings at the Innovations Campus. Joined the Microsoft TAP & CAB program under NDA in 2021 evaluating Teams features and hardware solutions. 30+ years of experience in technology and solutions used in video production, broadcasting, sound reinforcement, and corporate communications. Clients range from individuals to the Fortune 500 and the State of Kansas. Services include design, owner's services for planning and management, 3rd party review and audit. Specialties: Consulting on architectural acoustics, design of video and audio systems, prediction of sound system performance via EASE software, integration and convergence with networks and digital content delivery.
