About Joe Putos

I am a physical therapist registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. A member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, I am the Chair of the CPA's Leadership Division and the Past Chair of the Physiotherapy Specialty Certification Board of Canada and the Past Chair of the Divisions Chair Committee. I am in the last stages of completing my PhD in Physical Therapy in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University in London, Ontario. My research is focused on the mechanisms of acute low back pain using MRI images in human subjects. I have worked as a Peer Reviewer and Practice Enhancement Coach for the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario for the past 9 years. I have a Master of Education degree from Queen's (2009) and undergraduate degrees in Physical Therapy (Queen's -'85), Physical Education (University of Ottawa - 78) and Education (Queen's -'79). I am an alumni of the Assessment and Evaluation Group at Queen's University https://queens-aeg.ca/alumni/ Over the past 34 years I have held a number of professional, business and community leadership positions. I continue to be actively involved in research to improve the body of knowledge within the physical therapy field.
