About Joe Ready

I make social change by building strong, sustainable organizations and teams through smart, people focused systems, planning, recruitment and training. My deep experience in management, strategic planning, operations, project management and campaigns guides my approach to building operations that serve people and the organizations the run. I've worked in the nonprofit, advocacy and social change sector for over fifteen years. I start out doing public education and fundraising for a young environmental organization working to stop fracking in New York. Since then, I've helped build organizations across the country working on issues ranging from civil rights, democracy and LGBTQ equality to conservation, climate change, and protecting consumers. The throughline in all of this work is a deep commitment to making our world a cleaner, safer, kinder place for people. That same commitment guides my approach to how organizations operate. I know first hand, social change work is incredibly difficult. People dedicating their lives to doing that work deserve strong systems and organizations to support them. I'm committed to helping organizations thrive by helping their people thrive. It requires a plan. One that starts with the hiring and onboarding and continues through training, staff development and day to day systems that help, not hinder their work. And, especially now, when so much is changing so quickly, flexibility and adaptability are also critical. Over the years, I've helped lead many organizations through difficult changes and pivots. I'm adept at mapping out and implementing change strategies that successfully integrate the insights and wisdom of stakeholders organization wide.
