About Joe Schmeier

In my college computer classes used punch cards! I had to wait for mainframe time. Ha-ha! At the start of my career PCs were unheard of in restaurants. Now they are ubiquitous. My fascination with technology led me to study and learn more. I left the restaurant industry for technology. It was POS solutions first, then back into the restaurant industry at the corporate level. Finally: IT consulting. When my position was eliminated from a franchisor corporate office, I switched to the IT industry, leveraging one of my strongest assets; tenacity. Much of IT consulting is problem solving and when I get involved with a problem, it gets solved. Equally strong is my long business experience. It’s funny how restaurant chains trust million dollar investments to hourly 18 year olds. Having been one, I learned to watch costs while maximizing sales. My skills were rounded out when I moved up, but I still maintain that fundamental outlook. My IT clients would agree. I have advised against projects that would not generate ROI even though they would generate income for me.
