About Joe Timko

I am a former Partner at McKinsey and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer. I currently teach at the MBA level and serve as a board member to growing companies and non-profits. I teach on topics including Decision Making and Behavioral Economics, Management Consulting, Innovation and Technology Management, and Strategy. I bring experience creating and leading initiatives to drive growth, cost and performance improvement, technology direction, new market entry, and M&A mostly in B2B sectors. I've been a counselor to CEOs and have deep experience interacting with Boards of Directors. At ADP, as Chief Strategy Officer reporting to the CEO, I led overall strategy, business development and new business incubation efforts. At Pitney Bowes, as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Strategy Officer reporting to the CEO, I led technology direction and global product development, overall strategy, and corporate marketing. At McKinsey & Company (and EY) as a Partner, my work focused on the sectors of high tech (software, tech services), telecom (systems and services) and select industrial verticals (industrial controls, chemicals, pharmaceuticals). At Bell Laboratories for 14 years earlier in his career, I was a technology product manager and development team leader designing and building software systems for the telecommunications data backbone.
