About Joe Verdon

I am a lawyer with over twenty years of experience advising partners of McKinsey on a broad range of legal, intellectual property, and client service risks. I have built, developed, and led high-performing legal and risk teams. As a generalist legal counsel from to 2019, I provided legal advice on a full range of legal issues, including drafting and negotiating agreements, counseling on IP and antitrust, and advising on transactions. I have also held a range of legal leadership positions within McKinsey. I built and led the Legal Intellectual Property (IP) Team from to 2016. During that time, I grew the team substantially and served as the lead lawyer for McKinsey’s digital, analytics, solutions, and other technology businesses from their inception and throughout a period of dramatic growth. I have also lead the Client Service Risk Team in the Americas since 2011, a role that became full-time in 2019. In this role, I have grown this team substantially as well and provide risk counseling and advice to consulting partners in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America on complex, high risk matters, including reputation risk, conflicts, and service line boundaries.
