About Joe Walter

Joe is a Water Resources Senior Project Manager at Atkins, who develops large scale watershed hydraulic models. These predictive models provide an understanding of the regional flow of surface water and identifying opportunities for to solve some of the long standing flood control problems facing regions, as well as, look at very localized flooding concerns. One of his project’s, the Withlacoochee River Initiative, a sq mile study, is being used to Beta Test the new ICPR 2D model. This model will reshape the way water resources engineers visualize and simulate water. With the ease of GIS and the sophistication of a fully integrated rainfall, surface water and groundwater model optimized with variable mesh sizes. It is going to answer many of those outstanding questions and possibly reshaping the way we go about permitting. Exciting times and more to come.
