About Joel Abrams

Joel serves as a director to Industry Capital and its portfolio companies in Africa. Industry Capital is a private equity firm investing in real assets globally. Joel is part of the founding team and serves as director of Konexa a developer, investor and operator of distribution networks across Sub Saharan Africa. Joel also serves as managing director of Nigeria Solar Capital Partners and has been working to spearhead the introduction of large scale solar facilities in the Nigerian energy sector. In both directorship roles Joel has been responsible for managing the international project finance requirements, structuring equity and debt transactions, overall responsibility of raising funds to support international projects, financial modelling, running due diligence process, negotiation of term sheets and binding agreements for both equity and debt. Joel is a founding partner of Ibex Capital Partners and has had significant experience working and living in West and Central Africa. Through Ibex, Joel worked on originating and financing projects in renewable energy, environmental remediation, housing, agriculture and extractives. He has spent time on the ground in frontier markets building close ties with senior government officials and has worked with a broad range of development financial institutions.
