Background

About Joel Barrott

I learn about languages and culture, build model craft, construct and design concepts through computer software, play guitar, and travel. I have spent several hours per week for the last 10 years analyzing and understanding grammar, syntax, semantics, and vocabulary in 15 languages. I enjoy paying attention to detail which denotes my interest in constructing, painting, and texturing model aircraft and vehicles. I have traveled to seven countries for both work and pleasure and I look forward to traveling more. I'm always looking to open more doors and opportunities for new career options as a linguist/interpreter. Unlike most linguist who pass through DLIFLC, I fully intend to keep and improving my language skills and increase my chances for future opportunities. I do not see the opportunity of being a linguist/interpreter in the same simple way as other may. I see it as a chance to become one of the best intelligence assets as well as a chance to improve multiple social and cultural aspects in my life as well as others.
