About Joel Biggs

Recognized as a leading professional in the hospitality industry, Joel Biggs has over 35 years of experience in successful hotel operations and management. His career includes the founding of his own influential hotel management companies, guest lecturing at UCLA and holding office as the President and Chairman of the California Hotel & Lodging Association. He originally trained with Hilton, went on to develop skills in Sales and Marketing while working with Holiday Inn, then joined San Diego-based Atlas Hotels as General Manager of the 400 room Pacifica Hotel LAX in Culver City. Joel later founded a full service management company and managed numerous full service hotels. In 1989, he helped form the Santa Fe Management Group in order to achieve his full service management potential and was named President of the company where he impressively grew the portfolio to include more than sixty hotels and resorts throughout the Western United States. In 1996 Joel went on to co-found HMG, Hotel Managers Group where he served as President/CEO until he sold his company in 2016. His priorities include an efficient welcoming workplace, long term client and employee satisfaction, sustainable business and environmental practices, and a rewarding rate of return on investments. His professional affiliations include the Hotel Sales Managers Association, Convention and Visitors Bureaus, the Asian American Hotel Owners Association, the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the California Hotel and Lodging Association, and the American Hotel and Lodging Association. Joel balances his busy schedule with a rewarding family life and community involvement with the YMCA, Rotary International, and Boys and Girls Clubs. Currently with Magnus Hotel Management, helping to develop new hotels and acquire Management contracts, to help hotel owners achieve the highest level of success for their hotel assets.
