About Joel Boyce

I am an educational administrator, an educational consultant, a curriculum writer, and a content editor of nonfiction books. I have worked in the field of education for the past 17 years, and I have operated my consulting company, JCB Educational Services for the past 7 years. I have also had extensive experience as a district-level and school-based trainer in numerous writing workshops centered on preparing for the Georgia writing exams in middle and high school and training students to produce collegiate and advanced placement-level writing. I have a rich background in writing pedagogy and creative writing approaches to help students cultivate their ability to express their thoughts and ideas in writing. I provide instructional mentoring in the areas of literature and composition, world literature, American literature, and British literature. As the instructional expert in the buildings that I serve, my responsibility it is to meet the diverse instructional needs of teachers. I have developed my ability to communicate effectively with adult learners while helping them to improve their instructional practices. One of the most notable focuses of my developmental role has been to train teachers to utilize technology to communicate with parents, students, and their peers. Additionally, I have gained extensive experience in utilizing technology to enhance instructional activities and engage students. One of my goals is to write curriculum for middle and high school students that merges their diverse interests with the skills and knowledge that is necessary for college and career readiness. Additionally, I plan to use my leadership skills and ability to motivate adult learners in an administrative capacity at the middle or high school level. I plan to work with teacher leaders in school or district-level opportunities to transform failing or marginal institutions into high performing learning centers.
