About Joel McCartney

As a product manager at Voyis, I manage the hardware and software platforms that enable high performance underwater optical sensors for subsea vehicles (laser scanners, cameras, and lighting systems) that expand capability and enhance human understanding in ocean exploration and survey. I have over 10 years of industry experience with a focus on high tech. I collaborate with product users and partners to understand their needs and create valuable solutions. I decompose commercial go-to-market plans into actionable product requirements and user stories, and update, maintain, and communicate integrated product roadmaps. I also work with senior leadership to craft and realize the strategic vision and deliver an outstanding user experience. Previously, I led an integration team at NDI, where I managed multiple strategic partner technical evaluations and delivered early-stage validation testing on hardware and software products. I planned and delivered a successful consumer launch of a VR tracking system at CES 2020, which involved coordinating with core product design engineering teams. I am passionate about driving product innovation and impact in emerging fields. I have a product strategy certification from Northwestern University, and a background in math and physics. I enjoy solving complex challenges, removing customer roadblocks, and supporting direct reports. When I'm not on the job, I love spending time with my family, playing hockey, and golfing.
