About Joel Rice

I’m a Los Angeles-based editor with over two decades of post-production experience in scripted and documentary television, music videos and commercials. In scripted television, I’ve edited on award-winning shows for Apple+, Netflix, HBO, broadcast networks –including editing on "The Madness," “Criminal Minds” and “Quantico,” and assistant edited on “WeCrashed” and “In Treatment.” I was lead editor and supervised post-production for nine seasons and over 150 episodes of the FX interstitial program, “DVD on TV.” I started my career editing music videos and commercials, working on projects for Gap, Burger King and Ebay and with musicians including Beck, Elvis Costello and Busta Rhymes. I was Chief Projectionist at the Roy and Edna Disney Calarts Theater (REDCAT) at Disney Concert Hall, and for years worked as a projectionist on the technical crews at global film festivals, including Sundance, Telluride and Dubai. My love of cinema began by making cut-out animation shorts on my father's Super 8 camera in elementary school in Dallas. I enjoy cooking, hiking the Angeles Forest and spending time with my family in Pasadena.
